About

Working in the city, living in the country. That’s where the stories of life come to Paul Rollin. Travelling from one province to another his grand homeland and meeting people from various backgrounds help define what life is all about. With the help of fellow musician Wil Stakenburg, who helps bring out the best in music, Paul tries to create something that will resonate with listeners.

The first album, Self Preservation is a mixed bag of songs that Paul wrote and recored during the 2024 winter. It features songs with stories of lived experiences, mostly his, but also from friends and relatives. Wil Stakenburg came on board later in the project to give it a more polished feel.

Optimism of Youth is the second album from Paul, and features more collaborations with Wil. Written and recording throughout 2025, it’s features songs that seem to form a story around townlife and shared experiences of the people who live there. Being small town men, they have a first hand experience at the life in question. But you don’t need to be from a small town to understand the fun and less fun times that people go through on a daily basis. Mixed in between the songs are some instrumental tracks that help the album take on it’s true meaning.

Taming Bears is set to be released late in 2026 and will follow on the steps of the second album, with an even more melodic feel and intrumental avenues. Newer instruments are added to the fold, which although challenging at times, opens the musical pallet of sounds availalble to the artists.
